The Collector
Yanni grew up in a Greek household where wine was never separate from hospitality. Every gathering had a bottle on the table. Every guest left fed and full. Years later, after training at the Ritz-Carlton and learning to obsess over the details others overlook, he opened Yanni’s Bar & Grill in Scripps Ranch with his wife Denise in 2002. The cellar started small. It hasn’t stopped growing since.
The Collection
Since 2002, what’s on these shelves has reflected one man’s taste. Some bottles were chosen for the table — wines built to drink with our food. Others were chosen for the long view — bottles set aside because they tell a story, or because they’ll only get more remarkable with time. Greek and Mediterranean producers get particular love. Most San Diego restaurants don’t carry the wines you’ll find here. Trophy bottles too: Heitz, Hundred Acre, Sassicaia, Penfold’s Grange. Plus YB&G, Yanni’s own label out of Fallbrook Winery.
The Invitation
The cellar is open to anyone who wants to drink something memorable. Browse what we have. Request a bottle for an upcoming visit. Ask about anything you don’t see here — most of the rare bottles aren’t on the printed list. There’s a table waiting for you, and there’s a wine on these shelves with your name on it.
