White Label is Casanova di Neri’s classic Brunello, distinct from Tenuta Nuova. The 2011 combines dark fruit and restrained spice with a rounded, approachable texture. Lively acidity carries the richness, while integrated tannins provide shape without making this Sangiovese feel heavy or aggressively drying.

The producer
Family-owned Casanova di Neri has produced its White Label Brunello since 1978, blending Sangiovese from three vineyards in northeastern Montalcino, including sites nearest the cellar. In 2011, fruit normally reserved for Cerretalto was included, and the wine spent 43 months in oak followed by six months in bottle.
What critics say
Wine Advocate’s Monica Larner awarded 92 points, finding the 2011 approachable and buoyant. Dark fruit and mild spice ride lively acidity, while integrated tannins keep the warm-vintage richness composed; she also noted less depth than the celebrated 2010.
