The producer
Caymus Vineyards was founded in 1972 by Charlie Wagner and is one of Napa's most well-known producers. The Special Selection is the estate's flagship Cabernet, first released in 1975. Caymus Special Selection is one of only a few wines to be named Wine Spectator's Wine of the Year twice (1984 and 1990 vintages).
