Craggy Range’s 2023 Te Muna Sauvignon Blanc opens with kaffir lime leaf, white flowers and concentrated citrus. Bright acidity draws a clean line through the wine, while a finely textured mid-palate adds depth without softening its edge. The finish is clear and persistent, preserving the wine’s aromatic lift and restrained shape.

The producer
Craggy Range was founded in 1998 by Terry and Mary Peabody and remains protected by a 1,000-year family trust. At Te Muna Road, river terraces and stony, free-draining soils shape the vineyard. Sauvignon Blanc grows on the younger lower terraces; higher elevation and brisk winds slow the season and help the grapes retain intensity.
What critics say
Master Sommelier Cameron Douglas described the 2023 Te Muna Sauvignon Blanc as vibrant and refreshing, pairing citrus, white peach and herbs with bright acidity. He highlighted its mineral thread and concentrated orchard and tropical fruit, awarding 93 points.
