Expect blackcurrant, dark cherry, cedar, dried herb, and a savory note with full body and structured tannins. The 2012 Sonoma vintage was excellent. At 13 years from vintage, the wine should be drinking well with secondary notes emerging.

Gundlach Bundschu (commonly "Gun Bun") was founded in 1858 and is one of California's oldest continuously operated family-owned wineries — six generations of the Bundschu family have farmed the estate. The Vintage Reserve is one of the estate's flagship bottlings, produced only in vintages deemed worthy.
