Expect dense black currant, blackberry, dark chocolate, espresso, vanilla, and refined oak spice with full body, ripe but structured tannins, and a long finish. Hundred Acre's house style is opulent and concentrated. The 2013 Napa vintage was excellent — concentrated and age-worthy.

The producer
Hundred Acre was founded by Jayson Woodbridge in 2000 and quickly became one of Napa Valley's most sought-after cult Cabernet producers. The Ark Vineyard sits in Howell Mountain, with Hundred Acre also producing single-vineyard Cabernets from Kayli Morgan and Few and Far Between. Production is small and allocation is tightly managed.
What critics say
Hundred Acre Cabernets, including the Ark Vineyard bottling, have received numerous 100-point scores from Robert Parker / Wine Advocate and are regularly cited among Napa's most prestigious cult Cabernets. The wines trade in the secondary market at significant premiums.
