Expect red and dark cherry, dried herb (Mediterranean garrigue), dried red fruit, and a touch of leather with medium-to-full body and refined tannins. Kotsifali-led blends tend toward mid-weight elegance.

The producer

Karavitakis Winery is a Cretan estate producing wines from indigenous Greek varieties. Kotsifali is one of Crete's most important native red grapes, often blended with structured varieties to add color and tannin since Kotsifali itself is light-colored. Mavrotragano is a more structured indigenous variety historically associated with Santorini.
