Expect dark cherry, blackcurrant, plum, dried herb, leather, and refined oak spice with full body and structured tannins. The 2016 Tuscan vintage was excellent — widely regarded as one of the best vintages of the decade.

The producer
Luce was founded in 1995 as a partnership between Vittorio Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi — one of the first Italian-American wine collaborations of its era. The estate is in Montalcino. Now part of the Frescobaldi portfolio. Distinctive sun-rays label inspired by the Frescobaldi family's heritage in Florence.
What critics say
Luce receives consistently strong reviews and is regarded as one of the more polished, internationally styled Super Tuscans, with scores often in the mid-90s.
