Traditional Barolo typically shows tar, dried roses, sour cherry, leather, and licorice with high acidity and grippy tannins. The 2012 vintage in Barolo produced wines of good structure and freshness. At roughly 14 years from vintage, the wine should be opening up nicely with secondary notes emerging.

The producer
Not known with confidence — there are multiple Seghesio families in Italian winemaking (Aldo Seghesio and Fratelli Seghesio both produce Barolo from the Monforte d'Alba area), and without more label detail I cannot confirm which producer this is. Distinct from the unrelated Sonoma Zinfandel producer of the same surname.
