At 15 years from vintage, expect dark cherry, blackberry, dried red fruit, leather, dried herb, balsamic, volcanic minerality, and integrated oak with full body and structured but softening tannins. The 2010 Italian vintage was excellent.

The producer
Terra di Lavoro is the flagship wine of Galardi, a small Campanian estate. The wine sources from old-vine Aglianico and Piedirosso grown on volcanic soils on the slopes of the extinct Roccamonfina volcano. Riccardo Cotarella has consulted on the wine.
