Expect black currant, dark cherry, cedar, dried herb, and earthy notes with full body and structured tannins. The 2015 Napa vintage was warm and concentrated; 2016 was excellent — balanced and age-worthy.

The producer
Turley Wine Cellars was founded by Larry Turley in 1993 and is best known as one of California's most acclaimed Zinfandel and Petite Sirah producers. The estate also produces Cabernet Sauvignon, applying a similar minimal-intervention approach focused on old-vine and heritage-site fruit.
What critics say
Turley's wines are widely regarded for their commitment to old-vine fruit and a non-interventionist style. The Cabernet bottling is less widely covered than their Zinfandel program but is held in high regard within the Turley portfolio.
